Career History
Training and lecturing in IT led on to a job in software development as a programmer, trainer, mentor and project manager. When I examined what was most important to me about my work I found that it was communicating on all levels and enabling the development of others. I was introduced to coaching in March 2005 and knew that this would be my vocation.
Some of my coaching successes are
Supporting an individual through 2 major life changes. Helping several people to see the positives in themselves & their lives when their confidence has been low. Coaching people to recognize that they can improve their self-belief and take control.
What do you love about coaching?
The focus on positive change, the non-judgmental approach, the belief that everyone has immense ability, and the quick results.
What's your favourite movie and why?
Shaun of the Dead because it's very silly.
What do you like to do on a Sunday afternoon?
I love to get together with friends on the seafront for a coffee, a chat, and to watch the world go by.
What do we need to transform our world?
Tolerance for all of our differences and the ability to see that we can learn something from every individual.
Which three words describe you best?
Caring, friendly, positive.
What is the craziest thing you've ever done?
White-water rafted over a professional grade rapid, got married in a nightclub, jumped out of a plane... too many to list!
What is your greatest ambition?
To be a great mum and to make a positive difference to others.
What is your top tip for embracing change?
The key is to change your perception. A more positive and creative outlook allows you to move forward and think creatively; any doubts and fears will stifle this constructive approach. Coaching and self-coaching are great enablers of change as they allow you to acknowledge your concerns but then adjust your thoughts or unconscious habits towards a feeling of empowerment to proceed.
